Each morning a swarm of 450 students descend upon the same staircases and hallways that their predecessors have for the last 78 years.  Some have a smile and a wave for every person they encounter. Others are eager to see friends and others are being accompanied to their classroom by their older siblings.

What they all share is an open mind and a desire to participate in the communal life offered here.  They desire to know and to learn. Why does the sky change colors at different parts of the day? What happens when you mix different chemicals together (and why?), or - a different type of action/reaction: what happens when you disagree with someone?  Why did Christ die on the cross for us?  This desire can only be fed by exposing students to the truth.  The process of feeding this thirst for knowledge begins  at a very young age in Montessori where they ponder all things big and small.

St. Jerome Academy parents have chosen the school with the intention of capturing this holistic approach to the formation of their children in search of the truth.  Their children’s enthusiasm and zest for learning comes in the form of both asking and answering questions around knowing.

“The vision of education and how it contributes to the formation of a child’s love of the good, beautiful, and true was thrilling and inspiring to read. We loved the idea of an integrated curriculum that engaged students across subjects, classes, and grades as well as their teachers. We admired St. Jerome’s ideal of seeking to support and form not only the intellect of its students, but their faith and their aesthetic sensibility in recognition of the fact that they are deeply connected.” -Taryn Okuma, SJA Parent

As students progress through the grades they deepen their study of logic, mathematics, languages, the natural world around them, and each historical period, inching nearer towards mastery and understanding.  In the end, our graduates move closer to becoming the young person God has intended them to become, who can read well, write well, think well and speak well.

Does this spark a desire in you to see our school not just survive the test of time, but thrive?  Join us this giving week by considering a donation to St Jerome Academy which will serve our students in a direct capacity.
